How we handle information collected through omiscloud.com
This website is operated by The Plug Group, Inc., a North Carolina corporation, of Charlotte, North Carolina. In this notice, "we" and "us" mean The Plug Group, Inc. We are the controller of the information described below.
We collect two things, and nothing else.
2.1 What you type into the demo request form. The form asks for your name, your firm, and your work email address, and optionally your phone number, where you work, how many field crews you run, what system you use today, and any message you choose to write. Only name, firm, and work email are required. Everything else you may leave blank.
2.2 Ordinary web server records. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include the IP address of visitors, the pages requested, and the time of the request. When you submit the demo request form, the IP address you submitted it from is recorded in the email we receive, so that we can identify automated abuse of the form.
To answer you. Form submissions are sent to us by email so that we can arrange and prepare a walkthrough of OMIS. The optional questions exist so that the walkthrough is about your work rather than a generic demonstration. Server logs exist to operate and secure the site.
We rely on your request as the basis for contacting you. Submitting the form is a request for us to get in touch about OMIS; it is not a subscription to marketing.
A demo request lives in our email, and we keep it for as long as we are in contact with you about OMIS and for a reasonable period afterwards as a record of the request. If you ask us to delete it, we will. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider on their own rotation and are not kept by us separately.
6.1 Our hosting provider. This site is hosted by GoDaddy, which necessarily processes server logs and transmits the email containing your form submission.
6.2 Our email provider. The email we receive is held in our business mailbox with Microsoft.
6.3 Google Fonts. The pages on this site load three typefaces from Google's font service. To deliver them, your browser makes a request to Google, and Google therefore receives your IP address. This is the only third-party request the site makes. We do not use Google Analytics or any other Google product on this site.
6.4 Where the law requires it. We may disclose information if we are legally required to, and we will not do so voluntarily.
7.1 This website sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, and no third-party tracking of any kind. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
7.2 Because we run no analytics, we cannot tell you how many people visited a page or which pages they read. That is a deliberate trade we have made.
8.1 You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address in Section 11 and we will act on it.
8.2 You are never required to use the form. The site also publishes a direct email address and a telephone number, and you are welcome to use either instead.
8.3 Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights over your personal information. We honor those rights, and asking us costs you nothing.
OMIS is sold to surveying and engineering firms. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
If this notice changes, we publish a new version at its own address and update the link in the website footer. This version is not edited after publication, so a copy you saved remains an accurate record of what applied when you saved it.
